What do I need to buy separately to start using the Koda 16?
The oven does not include a gas regulator, hose, or gas cylinder, all of which are required before the oven can be used. You will need a 30mbar propane gas regulator with a hose suited to your cylinder connection — this is the standard pressure for bottled LPG and propane cylinders available at Portuguese hardware stores and gas suppliers. A pizza peel is also essential for launching and retrieving pizzas; Ooni recommends a 16-inch peel for this oven. No firelighters or fuel management equipment are needed as this is a gas oven with built-in ignition.
How does the Koda 16 compare to the Ooni Karu 2 Pro?
The Koda 16 and the Karu 2 Pro are both 16-inch Ooni ovens but they differ significantly in fuel type, technology, and price point. The Koda 16 is gas-only (with the 30mbar regulator purchased separately) and offers the simplest possible operation: connect the gas, press ignite, cook. It has no glass door, no digital temperature hub, and no Bluetooth connectivity. The Karu 2 Pro supports wood, charcoal, and optional gas, includes a large borosilicate glass door with ClearView technology, and comes with the Ooni Connect Digital Temperature Hub for Bluetooth temperature monitoring on a smartphone. The Karu 2 Pro's internal ceiling height is also taller at 145 mm versus the Koda 16's lower profile. The Koda 16 is the better choice for those who want gas convenience and straightforward operation at a lower price; the Karu 2 Pro suits those who want fuel flexibility and advanced monitoring capability.
Is the 30mbar gas regulator easy to find in Portugal?
Yes. The 30mbar propane gas regulator is the standard fitting for bottled propane and LPG cylinders used in Portugal and is widely available at hardware stores, DIY chains, and gas suppliers. Standard barbecue propane cylinders available in Portugal operate at 30mbar, so an existing barbecue regulator and hose may already be compatible, though Ooni recommends verifying the connection type before use. If you are unsure about gas connections, the Importeco team can advise before purchase.
Is this available from Importeco with delivery in Portugal?
Yes. Importeco is an authorised Ooni dealer based in the Algarve, Portugal, and stocks the Ooni Koda 16 Gas Pizza Oven 30mbar EU (UU-P0B400) — the correct gas pressure variant for use in Portugal — with delivery available across Portugal. The oven is eligible for Ooni's manufacturer warranty: 1 year as standard, extendable to 5 years on registration with Ooni within 60 days of receipt. Add it to your basket directly on the Importeco website, or contact the team for guidance on compatible accessories and gas connections before purchasing.
