The Cover for Ooni Karu 16 (UU-P0E500) is the official protective cover designed specifically for the Ooni Karu 16 multi-fuel pizza oven. It is constructed from aluminium and polyester, is 100% waterproof, and weighs 0.24 kg unpacked (0.6 kg packed). A super-snug elastic edge and adjustable strap allow the cover to fit closely over the oven body, hugging tight to the legs to eliminate slippage in wind or when brushed against. The cover is designed to protect the Karu 16 from rain, dust, UV exposure and general outdoor wear between cooking sessions, and is straightforward to fit and remove single-handed.

The cover is constructed from premium breathable polyester and is both waterproof and durable, with adjustable straps fitted with aluminium buckles for additional security. Unlike the Volt 12 cover, the Karu 16 is a solid-fuel and gas outdoor oven suitable for permanent outdoor installation, meaning this cover can be used for both short-term protection between cooks and longer-term outdoor storage during periods when the oven is not in use. Always allow the oven to cool fully before fitting the cover, and ensure the chimney and chimney cap are in place before covering.

One note on compatibility: Ooni released an updated cover in early 2025 (UU-P2E400) that fits both the Karu 16 and the newer Karu 2 Pro. The UU-P0E500 listed here is the original Karu 16-specific cover. Both fit the Karu 16 correctly — if you own a Karu 2 Pro, please ensure you select the correct cover for your model.

The UU-P0E500 is the original cover designed specifically for the Ooni Karu 16. Ooni released an updated cover in early 2025 (UU-P2E400) that fits both the Karu 16 and the Karu 2 Pro. If you own a Karu 16, both covers will fit correctly. If you own a Karu 2 Pro, you should select the UU-P2E400 rather than the UU-P0E500 to ensure the correct fit for your oven. If you are unsure which cover is right for your model, please contact Importeco directly before ordering.

Can I leave the Karu 16 outside permanently with this cover on?

Yes — unlike electric oven covers, this cover is suitable for longer-term outdoor storage as the Karu 16 is designed for permanent outdoor installation. The 100% waterproof construction protects the oven from rain, moisture and UV exposure during extended periods outside. For the longest oven lifespan, Ooni recommends covering the oven whenever it is not in use, particularly in coastal areas such as the Algarve where salt air can accelerate surface wear on carbon steel. Always allow the oven to cool fully before fitting the cover.

Do I need to remove the chimney before fitting the cover?

No — the chimney should remain fitted when covering the Karu 16 for storage. Ensure both the chimney and chimney cap are in their correct positions before pulling the cover over the oven, as the cover is shaped to fit over the full assembled oven including the chimney. Removing the chimney for storage and then covering the oven is not necessary and leaves the chimney port exposed.
