The Ooni Cast Iron Dual-Sided Grizzler Plate is a reversible cast iron cooking plate designed to fit inside all Ooni pizza ovens and extend their use beyond pizza to meat, seafood, eggs, vegetables, and flatbreads. One side features raised grill ribs that sear grill marks onto steaks, chicken, fish, and vegetables; the opposite side is a flat smooth plate suited to frying eggs, cooking fajitas, sautéing vegetables, and anything requiring direct contact with an even heat surface. The plate measures 34.6 cm × 31.8 cm × 5.1 cm and weighs 5.75 kg. It arrives pre-seasoned and ready to cook, though re-seasoning will be required over its lifetime in line with standard cast iron care. One important note: unlike other Ooni cast iron products, the Dual-Sided Grizzler is not compatible with induction hobs due to its raised edges.

Two removable cast iron handles hook into the plate and allow it to be placed into and retrieved from a hot oven safely. Once cooked, the plate moves directly from the oven to the included stainless steel trivet for table service, keeping the cooking surface hot and the table protected. The trivet doubles as a stable serving stand, making it practical for cooking and presenting dishes at the table without transferring food to a separate serving plate.

Yes — the Dual-Sided Grizzler Plate is designed to fit inside all current Ooni pizza oven models, including the Koda 12, Koda 2, Koda 2 Pro, Fyra 12, Karu 12G, Karu 2, Karu 2 Pro, and Volt 2. The plate measures 34.6 cm × 31.8 cm, so it sits within the cooking chamber of all 12-inch and 16-inch Ooni ovens. For best results, preheat the plate inside the oven before adding food, just as you would preheat the cordierite baking stone for pizza.

Can I use this plate on an induction hob?

No — the Ooni Dual-Sided Grizzler Plate is not compatible with induction hobs. This is due to the raised edges and ribbed surfaces on both sides of the plate, which prevent flat contact with an induction surface. It can be used inside any Ooni pizza oven, over an open fire, and on gas or electric hobs. If you need a cast iron product that works on induction, Ooni's other cast iron cookware items should be checked individually for induction compatibility.

Does the plate come pre-seasoned and how do I care for it?

Yes — the plate arrives pre-seasoned and is ready to use straight from the box. Cast iron requires specific care to maintain the seasoning and prevent rust: hand wash with warm water only when cool, never use soap or place it in a dishwasher, and always dry thoroughly before storing. Never store the plate wet. Re-season periodically by applying a thin layer of cooking oil and heating the plate — full instructions are in the included essentials guide. With correct care, cast iron cookware lasts indefinitely.
